Mummy-ji’s Spicy Prawns

I was never a big fan of any seafood, but when my mother-in-law added prawns to this simple to prepare spicy sauce, I was hooked. Wish just a few ingredients and hardly any time you too can have this delicious meal.
Servings: 2 yield(s)
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Ingredients
  • 250 g Jumbo Prawns
  • 1 Green Chilli (chopped)
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Paste (or one clove)
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger Paste (or 1/2 cm grated)
Instructions
  1. Fry prawns in hot oil until the water has almost evaporated and frying begins again.
  2. Add garlic and ginger paste, stir a little and cook until the car garlic smell goes.
  3. Add the spice (masala) mix and salt to the prawns and fry for a minute to release the aromas.
  4. Add chopped chilli and sliced tomato and try this. The water will come out of the tomato and eventually create a thick sauce.
  5. Prawns can be eaten at this point, but it's better to add a little water and simmer gently until the sauce thickens again to the desired amount as this will help to soften the prawns.
